Translation work for NAATI-credentialed translators

LodgeHQ Translations lets approved participating translators review matching online jobs, see the final payout before acceptance and deliver completed translations through one order workspace. Participation does not guarantee work, a minimum income or a particular payout date.

What the current application asks for

  • A LodgeHQ user account and working email address
  • Your NAATI practitioner number and current translator credential type
  • At least one source-to-target language direction
  • Certificate evidence in PDF, DOCX, JPG or PNG format
  • Optional profile information and proposed rate preferences
LodgeHQ does not currently advertise a separate identity-document check in the public application. Do not upload a passport or driver licence as “identity evidence” unless an authorised LodgeHQ administrator explains why it is required and how it will be handled.

Credential terminology matters

NAATI credentials individual practitioners for specific credential types and language directions. LodgeHQ is not NAATI, is not an endorsed language service provider and does not grant or renew a NAATI credential.

Applicants must keep their information accurate and tell LodgeHQ if a credential expires, changes, is suspended or no longer covers a listed direction. LodgeHQ approval is a marketplace access decision, not a substitute for current NAATI status.

How marketplace work is allocated

    Apply

    Submit practitioner, credential, language-direction and certificate information through the authenticated application form.

    Platform review

    A LodgeHQ administrator reviews the supplied application. Approval time is not guaranteed, and LodgeHQ may request clarification or decline access.

    See matching work

    Approved profiles can see only eligible jobs whose exact source-to-target direction matches a verified approved credential. Visibility depends on customer demand and current availability; no volume of work is promised.

    Review before accepting

    Check source/target language, pages, deadline, customer notes, file preview where available and the exact final AUD payout shown on the job.

    Accept and translate

    For instant work, the first eligible translator to complete the atomic acceptance becomes assigned. Download the source, translate it and upload the completed file by the recorded target.

  6. 6

    Customer review and payout

    The customer can approve or request a revision. Approved work enters LodgeHQ's administrative payout process using the bank details saved in the translator profile.

Job access and confidentiality

Matching approved translators can see job metadata. In some workflows they can view a watermarked preview before assignment. Source documents and notes are confidential: do not download, copy, screenshot, redistribute or retain material except as required for authorised work.

Fees and displayed payout

The job card displays the customer total and the translator's final recorded AUD payout before acceptance. Do not infer a trust or escrow arrangement. This page does not represent a percentage split or GST treatment; rely on the displayed payout for that job and obtain tax advice for your own circumstances.

Bank details and payment cycle

Approved translators add an account name, six-digit BSB and Australian account number in their profile. Completed and customer-approved jobs are currently grouped for manual weekly payout processing. Bank/provider delays and administrative exceptions can affect receipt.

Before accepting a job

  • Confirm the credential and language direction cover the work.
  • Inspect every available page and the customer's notes.
  • Check the recorded deadline and your current capacity.
  • Confirm the final displayed payout is acceptable.
  • Do not accept work outside your competence or credential scope.
  • Keep source material inside the authorised workflow where practical.
  • Raise ambiguity before delivery rather than guessing.
  • Keep profile and bank details current.

Common translator questions

Does LodgeHQ guarantee regular work?

No. Work depends on customer demand, language direction, document fit, account approval and how quickly other eligible translators accept.

Are jobs awarded by lowest bid?

Instant jobs show a preset payout and use first eligible acceptance. Legacy or specialist workflows may use a different review or bidding path; check the specific job interface.

Does LodgeHQ withhold my tax?

This page does not provide tax advice or make a withholding/GST conclusion. Translators should obtain advice based on their own circumstances and compare it with each payout record.
